Breath, Kiss and Speech as a Source of the Animation of Life

Admiel Kosman

The inspiration by which man was created is perceived in many sources not simply as inspiration of living spirit, but as the ancient source of the kiss. From this we can easily deduce that the human kiss, as well, is far more than a mere act of etiquette. A kiss transmits the essence of vitality and spirituality of one person to another.

The kiss is the act that connects man and the creative utterance of God; it is the primordial kiss that inspired the soul; it is the power of God’s sacred utterance. This sacred power of speech is also transferred from the Deity himself, from the Law-giver, to those whose calling is the Word of God, the Sages who study the Torah.
